TABASCO, Mexico (AP) — A Mexican federal official says rescue crews have found the bodies of three more Central American migrants at the site of a train derailment in southern Mexico, raising the death toll to nine.

Civil Protection coordinator Luis Puente said Tuesday on his Twitter account that the bodies were found inside one of the derailed train cars.

The train was carrying at least 250 migrants when it derailed Sunday in a remote region of Tabasco state.

At least six of the dead were from Honduras.

Thousands of migrants ride the roofs of the train cars on their way north each year, braving brutal conditions for a chance at crossing into the United States.
