Police say a gunman shot into a crowd after a basketball game in western New York, killing three people and wounding four others.
The drive-by shooting happened late Wednesday outside the Boys and Girls Club in Rochester. Police say there was no problem at the club before the shooting.
Officials have not yet released the names of the victims. Police say the injured have gunshot wounds that don’t appear to be life-threatening.
A large crowd gathered near the scene of the shooting early Thursday. Emotions ran high as family and friends of the victims consoled each other.
Rochester Police Chief Michael Ciminelli says he’s urging anyone in the community with information about the shooting to come forward. He says the investigation is a top priority.
