I watched a 30/30 segment on Butch Reynolds who was a rising star in international track and field until
a French testing company accused him of using steroids which was a mistake that was later confirmed
but the International Olympic Committee would not admit their mistake and ruined this young man's
career.
What a travesty. Those folks should be punished and disbarred from serving on any Olympic committee
and Butch should be compensated.

What does this tell you about the Olympics and the state of the world when people who are shown their
undisputed mistakes won’t do the right thing and let a young man suffer for something he did not do?
I know this was 30+ years ago and things have changed a bit but the prejudice is still there and will
always be there.
Butch Reynolds stood tall and became a better man than the ones that judged him. He started an after
school mentoring program in Ohio where he was from. Met a woman and got married and raised her 2
kids as his own.
I WANT TO BE THE MAN BUTCH REYNOLDS IS.
