Sean Smith is a dedicated public servant running for Congress in Missouri’s 5th District. Currently, he is serving as a Jackson County Legislator, where he has been a relentless advocate for public safety improvements and property tax corrections. With over 25 years of experience as a small business entrepreneur and an advisor to some of America’s largest businesses and institutions, Sean has helped them enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction. He now applies this wealth of experience to serve the citizens of Jackson County.
Family & Education Born to a union firefighter, Sean moved to Jackson County two decades ago to provide a nurturing environment for his children. His three children, now young adults, have benefited from diverse educational experiences, including home-schooling, Christian Schools, and public schools. Sean holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, specializing in Accounting and Management.
Involvement Sean is a committed supporter of the Veterans Community Project and Rehope, focusing on providing assistance to veterans facing housing issues and individuals who have been victims of human trafficking. These causes are at the forefront of Sean’s extensive list of community priorities. Elected to the Jackson County Legislature in 2022, Sean is honored to serve the citizens of Jackson County.
