TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey voters are going to the polls as they decide who will be governor for the next four years.
Republican Chris Christie is seeking a second term against Democrat Barbara Buono (BOWH’-noh).
Buono and her husband voted Tuesday morning at a school gymnasium in Metuchen.
Buono says she believes she has made up ground in the last few weeks and that Democrats will turn out for her.
Polls have shown Christie with a strong lead.
By law, Christie cannot seek a third term, and he could leave to run for president if he is re-elected.
Polls close at 8 p.m. EST.
