Officials from the school district where the Ohio man accused in a plot to attack the U.S. Capitol attended high school say he was a typical student and not disruptive in class.

In a statement Thursday, Oak Hills High School Principal John Stoddard said teachers of 20-year-old Christopher Lee Cornell were shocked at the 2012 graduate’s alleged involvement in the plot.

Federal authorities say Twitter posts sympathizing with Islamic terrorists led to the arrest of Cornell, who lives in the Cincinnati area.

Authorities say Cornell, also known as Raheel Mahrus Ubaydah, was arrested Wednesday after buying two semi-automatic rifles and about 600 rounds of ammunition. An FBI agent says the public was never in danger.

Stoddard says teachers remember Cornell as a quiet but not overly reserved student who participated in class.
